Job Title : Developer, Operations

Job description :
The main focus of this group of techs is to architect, develop, automate and deploy products and infrastructure based on Linux and Linux application stacks.
Responsibilities :
Design systems architecture for projects using Linux and Linux application stacks (LAMP, Ruby, Postgres, Java, Python etc)
Deployment and monitoring automation
Automation and implementation of permanent resolutions to prevent outages / downtimes
Responsible for architecting deployments for High Availability, scalability and reliability
Develop self serving tools (in shell/perl/ruby/python etc) for automation and efficient management of sites/products.
Puppet configuration management.
Contribute to the operations handbook
Participate in on-call rotation to handle site outage incidents
Skills :
- Linux :
- In depth Linux/Unix fundamentals, various linux kernel subsystems (memory, storage, network etc) fundamentals.
- Fundamentals :
- DNS & Networking Fundamentals, TCP/UDP, IP Routing, HA & Load Balancing Concepts.
- Application Stacks :
- LAMP, Nginx/HAproxy/ATS, Tomcat/Jboss etc.
- Databases :
- SQL/RDBMS Fundamentals, MySQL, Postgres, Replication concepts.
- Configuration management :
- Puppet
- Tools/Utilities :
- Nagios, Cacti, Ganglia, Kickstart/Cobbler, Mcollective, Yum, RPM, GIT/SVN
- Programming :
- Good programming fundamentals, Coding in any of PERL/Ruby/Python/PHP/Go etc.
- Others :
- Regular expressions, Good troubleshooting skills.
- Plus :
- Knowledge of virtualization, AWS is a plus.
