Job Description :
we are seeking a talented, highly motivated individual to be a part of a group of highly talented engineers involved in building next generation website for fashion/shoes industry as part of Amazon. As part of this team the engineer would be responsible for increasing the reach of Amazon’s business in a new economy.
Job functions:
Position Responsibilities:
- Design, implementation, and deployment of key functional areas in the website, social/community features, mobile platform and mobile applications.
- Assist directly and indirectly in the continual hiring and development of technical talent
- You will work extensively with cross-functional teams across Amazon’s website, ecommerce and fulfillment platform on the design and development of core platform functionality
- Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions.
- Fully and completely understand system interdependencies and limitations.
- Effectively research and benchmark Amazon technology against other competing systems in the industry.
- The ideal candidate will be a leader, builder and operator. He/she should be able to operate in a very fast paced environment where time to hit market is super critical. The leader needs to balance technical leadership and savvy with strong business judgment to make the right decisions about technology choices.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors (BS/BE) in Computer Science or related field
- 1 to 4 years of experience in software development and full product life-cycles
- Top notch coding skills in Java and/or C++ coupled with strong base in object-oriented design.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, complexity analysis.
- Solid understanding of relational database and SQL
- Proficiency with at least one of these scripting languages: Perl / Python / Ruby / shell script
- Sharp problem solving skills and ability to resolve ambiguous requirements
- Ability to learn Quickly new technologies and systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of HTTP Protocol, REST, XML, J2EE, JavaScript, AJAX a plus.
- Development experience in Linux is a plus.
- Experience with UI frameworks such as Spring MVC, GWT, jQuery, Swing, etc. is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong sense of ownership and drive
- Ability to work well with people and be both highly motivated and motivating
