  • We are looking for a high energy and innovative individual with a passion for software development to join our team. The individual selected for this position will have an active role in the design and development on large-scale, enterprise-wide initiatives to build a platform that will be used for the acquisition, conversion and transformation of content on behalf of business units across Thomson Reuters. This individual will contribute to solutions across the entire architecture stack using the current technologies including Java, XML, JQuery, JavaScript and Web Services..
  • Key technical challenges that this role will be involved in are design and implementation of simple to complex user interfaces using JQuery UI framework, accessing different services and components across a global footprint with many business units.

Essential Responsibilities :

1. Technical


• This individual will work closely with users, technical leads, project managers, and other cross-functional development teams to design and deliver software solutions. This includes writing software, making modifications to existing software and integrating applications within the core pathway.
• Active coding in key technology is required for this development position and includes: JQuery, JavaScript Java/J2EE, Web Services, and XML.
• This individual must develop software using disciplined software development processes, adhering to team/company standards and software best practice guidelines, and corporate policies.

2. Quality


• Delivering quality of the software to our QA team is an important function of this position and this individual will be responsible for creating and executing unit tests on the code that they write for their interface.

3. Project/Team


• This team works in an agile/scrum environment.

Qualifications :

  • Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. A Masters Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field is a plus. "
  • Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate recent relevant experience in the following:
  • UI Applications design and development, including industry recognized UI technologies and frameworks such as JavaScript and JQuery
  • XPATH, parsing and related XML processing tools.
  • JQuery and JavaScript, CSS and HTML5 development.
  • Experience with Web Services including SOAP or REST-based techniques.
  • Experienced in building scalable web applications using the latest UI frameworks over a Java/J2EE platform like GWT, JQuery or related technologies.

Project Summary -

As QA Analyst at Thomson Reuters, you will collaborate with technical leaders, other QA's and managers to successfully develop, execute support test automation and analyze document and report issues found during testing.  Our dynamic environment offers opportunities to be involved in all phases of application development including utilizing different programming languages, building and testing code and working with leading edge technologies.

We are looking to add a QA to the GRC - Functional testing team in Bangalore. The QA team will be part of GRC team and will be doing estimating, planning, and test execution activities for the Enterprise GRC product/s.  The team will perform new feature testing, api testing, regression and production fix test support. The team will carry out both manual and automated testing and report the bugs.

Essential day to day responsibility -

Understanding of Software Testing Methodology including Test Planning, Test Coverage, Functional Test Development, Test Execution, Fix Verification, Regression, Upgrade and Data load Testing 
• Help other QAs in doing their job • Analyze, document, and submit issues discovered during testing. Verify and close issues resolved during the release cycle. • Attend Design Reviews to gain understanding of functionality in order to develop and execute testing tasks and responsibilities. Develop in-depth Product Knowledge and develop Subject Matter Expertise • Functional Test Development:  Develop Test Strategies, Test Cases and Test Data for new product functionality and/or customer requests from Requirements/Specifications • Data Load/Conversion Testing:  Conduct test execution on specific customer data and databases as directed • Problem Research and Error Isolation:  Conduct analysis of testing results/failures.   • Fix Verification/Impact Analysis:  Verify problems reported during testing are working as designed. Verify no further regressions are caused by the fix. • Assist in estimation of hours required to complete testing projects and data import validation (as requested) • Analyze product specifications, software requirements specifications, and software prototypes, and interact with software developers to plan and develop test cases. • Partner and build effective relationships with others throughout the quality, software development, and product development organizations. • Execute, and support automated tests. • Keep abreast of current methodologies, technologies, and tools, and proactively seek ways to incorporate them into testing efforts. • Effectively contribute and implement new ideas to improve the software testing process.

 • A four-year degree, preferably in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Engineering, or other related field

Required Skills -

• Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

 Desired Skills -

  • Scripting experience in Java script or VB Script or similar
