- We are looking for a high energy and innovative individual with a passion for software development to join our team. The individual selected for this position will have an active role in the design and development on large-scale, enterprise-wide initiatives to build a platform that will be used for the acquisition, conversion and transformation of content on behalf of business units across Thomson Reuters. This individual will contribute to solutions across the entire architecture stack using the current technologies including Java, XML, JQuery, JavaScript and Web Services..
- Key technical challenges that this role will be involved in are design and implementation of simple to complex user interfaces using JQuery UI framework, accessing different services and components across a global footprint with many business units.
Essential Responsibilities :
1. Technical
• This individual will work closely with users, technical leads, project managers, and other cross-functional development teams to design and deliver software solutions. This includes writing software, making modifications to existing software and integrating applications within the core pathway.
• Active coding in key technology is required for this development position and includes: JQuery, JavaScript Java/J2EE, Web Services, and XML.
• This individual must develop software using disciplined software development processes, adhering to team/company standards and software best practice guidelines, and corporate policies.
2. Quality
• Delivering quality of the software to our QA team is an important function of this position and this individual will be responsible for creating and executing unit tests on the code that they write for their interface.
3. Project/Team
• This team works in an agile/scrum environment.
Qualifications :
- Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. A Masters Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field is a plus. "
- Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate recent relevant experience in the following:
- UI Applications design and development, including industry recognized UI technologies and frameworks such as JavaScript and JQuery
- XPATH, parsing and related XML processing tools.
- JQuery and JavaScript, CSS and HTML5 development.
- Experience with Web Services including SOAP or REST-based techniques.
- Experienced in building scalable web applications using the latest UI frameworks over a Java/J2EE platform like GWT, JQuery or related technologies.
- Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. A Masters Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field is a plus.
