Job Description :
- Associate Test Engineer will be an integral member of the team that builds NCR’s award-winning products and services.
- Involvement of the Associate Test Engineer will span the development life-cycle, including planning, designing, development and maintenance.
- We are looking for a Test Engineer who has strong computer science fundamentals to join our elite team of product testing professionals.
- We are looking for an innovative candidate who will provide testing support to different aspects of the software development lifecycle:
- Test Planning: Assist project manager for preparing effort estimation
- Unit Testing – establish unit test readiness position
- Integration/ Component Testing – Rigorous testing to ensure that product meets the business requirements. • Report and track Defects for resolution
- Assist development team in troubleshooting and characterising defects.
Responsibilities :
- The Associate Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring that solutions meet business needs by:
- Auditing/Supporting the stages of the development lifecycle until Integration/Component Test Complete.
- Support developing and executing an effective integration test plan, including supporting documentation.
- Create the software integration/ component test specifications based on requirements spec and functional specification.
- This will involve discussions with the remote Technical Leads and Architects.
- Prepare Test Logs, maintain Test Results.
- Identifying, characterising and reporting defects found during testing.
- Involve in test closure activites(Like prepare integration and component test report).
- Reviewing technical documentation (e.g. information products and customer training) as required.
- Working with the development teams and other test engineers to encourage the use of best practice test tools and techniques throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Building and developing knowledge of available test practices and tools within and outside NCR.
- Develop and maintain product knowledge
- Continuously identifying lessons learned and opportunities for improvement during the course of the project and providing feedback to the project team.
- Preparing the Test Cases to be executed through automated or manual testing, as determined by the test strategy.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :
- Internships and /or 0-1 years of related experience
- BS and/or MS degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in the Software Development Process, software testing life cycle and software configuration management as they relate to the process.
- Can work with minimal guidance and show initiative.
- Work on projects of medium to high complexity, and exercise judgment within defined procedures & practices to determine appropriate action
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Good resource and time management skills to successfully work on and drive multiple tasks at one time
