Qualifications
· 0-2 years of relevant business reporting and analytics experience in CPG (or related) industry preferred
· Previous experience with the following data sources (shipments, trade promotion, Nielsen and/or IRI) and technologies (SAP Business Explorer, Business Objects, Nielsen Nitro, Excel, Feature Vision, Access) is preferred
· Previous experience supporting Marketing or Sales teams in a reporting and analysis capacity
· Speaks, reads and writes English fluently
Degrees Preferred: Any Bachelor’s / Masters Degree; preferably in computers, Business, Statistics, Finance/Accounting, or Economics

Purpose
Sales Solutions Group (SSG) is further broken into verticals like:
- Trade & Pricing Analytics (TPA)
- Trade Marketing (TM)
- Regional Capabilities (RC)
The said position is in the Trade Marketing (TM) vertical that is responsible for analyzing and verifying customer invoices versus trade merchandising events of General Mills Inc. USA. The Validations team (sub-team in TM vertical) in Mumbai validates & analyzes trade promotions using multiple data sources & delivers actionable insights. The longer-term vision for this team is ultimately to support a wide variety of reporting and analytical tasks (from basic reporting to advanced analytical methods) for the Consumer Foods Sales Division.
Accountabilities
· Initial job responsibilities will include:
· Identifying incrementally-funded promotions in internal GMI Trade Planner tool
· Utilizing AC Nielsen data to verify customer bill: volume, discount, products
· In the case of discrepancies, communicate mismatch to sales team and Customer Service Center
· Where necessary, utilize other verification data to support trade payments: internal shipments, 3rd party data, ECRM, customer scan data, etc.
· Corresponding with the Customer Service Center in the US to finalize payment
· Vision for the department includes an evolution into more advanced analytics:
· Creating tracking and reporting for Sales ROI metrics
· Development and execution of ad hoc customer reporting
· Deal ranking and analysis to optimize trade spending and customer behavior
· Ad hoc Category Management analysis (i.e., pricing, distribution, shopper segmentation)
· Analysts will need to develop in-depth knowledge of data sources utilized across Sales to execute reporting and analytical tasks, including Nielsen scan data, FeatureVision, internal GMI planning tools and customer scan data
· Employee will also need to gain in-depth knowledge of customer details (when ad breaks, how they bill, Nielsen coverage factors) as well as a comprehensive understanding of GMI product groups and merchandising strategies
