Position Title: Assistant Professor - Drexel Game Design Program

University seeks applications for a full time tenure-track faculty position available in its Drexel Game Design Program, a collaborative effort between the Digital Media Program in the Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design and the Computer Science Department in the College of Engineering. The start date for the anticipated position is September 1, 2013. 

Essential Functions : It 
is expected that the successful candidate will pursue research through scholarship and/or creative works, either funded through government agencies or through industry, and will have the ability to collaborate across Drexel schools and colleges. Further responsibilities include teaching and advising students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and service at the college and university levels.

The Digital Media Program has been ranked in the top 10 programs to study video game design by Gamepro Media and the Princeton Review. It is housed in Drexel's Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design, one of the Universities' 12 schools and colleges. The Westphal College offers sixteen undergraduate and five graduate programs in media, design and the performing arts, a number of which are nationally ranked, to over 2,100 students. Programs are taught in small studio settings, featuring hands-on learning and an award-winning faculty of industry practitioners who emphasize the use of the latest technologies. Requirements 


Qualifications: 
The successful candidate should hold a Ph.D. in a related field with a demonstrated body of accomplishments in game design and/or game research. Industry experience in game development and production is a plus. We are seeking candidates with backgrounds in either Digital Media or Computer Science, who have in-depth knowledge and skills in game related areas including, but not limited to, game design, game studies, mobile games and/or game production.
